Service / Electric Vehicles
As the number of electric vehicles on UK roads rapidly increases, Electric Vehicle Charging becomes an ever more important aspect of car ownership. There are many different options when it comes to EV charging points. As such, it is important to chose the one that is best suited to your building and vehicle requirements. We can supply and install different types of systems; from your plug and play charger to an internet based pay system.
There are three core types of EV charging – rapid, fast, and slow with each representing the power output, and therefore charging speed, available to the driver charging their EV.
Rapid chargers are divided in two sections – AC and DC. Currently available Rapid AC chargers are rated at 43kW, while Rapid DC are generally 50kW. Both will charge an EV to 80% in around 30 minutes. As such this is the most common charger used in public places such as in service stations.
Fast chargers cover those with 7kW and 22kW power outputs, which typically charge an EV in 3-4 hours.
Slow units, up to 3kW. Are best for overnight charging and usually take between 6 and 12 hours for a pure-EV.
We offer a variety of options for the design for your EV charging point. From stand alone units to mounted wall pods our range of charging points are perfect for both indoor and outdoor car parks as well as street side parking.
